Flash fiction - Velcro

Getting Madame de Pompadour ready for her assignations with the King has been much easier since the Doctor’s last visit.  He and my lady have been friends since long before he saved her from the clockwork killers.  Anyway, the Doctor’s saved my job and possibly my life.  There was a hell of a row when one of the pins I’d used to secure my lady’s bodice stabbed a royal finger and bled all over the expensive blue silk.  The hooks and eyes I spent hours sewing on after that incident infuriated His Majesty even more.  Then the dear Doctor appeared before me in that sudden way of his, winked and handed me a double roll of something with tiny hooks on one side and all soft and fuzzy on the other. Now I can get my lady ready in no time and the King’s got a satisfied smile on his face too.
