15/08/07 - A busy day
I attended Della Galton’s workshop on short stories for magazines and Lee Weatherly’s course on writing for children, as well as making time to hear readings by the TopWrite group of young people enrolled on creative writing courses.
The evening speaker, Jamie Rix, best known for his children’s stories, was very entertaining. So was the Room 101 session afterwards, with John Lamont, Xanthe Wells and Martin Brocklebank telling VC Diana Wimbs what they would most like to make disappear. Among the chosen items were seagulls, condiment sachets and everything to do with Harry Potter.
