15/04/07 - Not cut out to be a servant

Spending the afternoon at Beningbrough Hall near York has confirmed me in the view that I’d have been a very unwilling domestic servant.  Having got that off my chest, I confess that I found the minutiae of their daily lives fascinating and spent a lot of time in the re-created laundry. 

There was an ingenious facility to appear in an 18th century portrait and email it home, but mine was so hideous that I’ve suppressed it!
