10/03/10 - Return to Emmerdale and a theatre visit.

After a long break, due to work being so thin on the ground at the moment, I was back in the village today.

Sharp eyed friends might spot the back of my head as I ‘dined’ in The Woolpack and a patient figure standing with a partner by the telephone box later on. The wind really blows up Main Street and I was very glad of my coat!

We wrapped at six o’clock and I was able to get to Harrogate Theatre in time to see Alan Ayckbourn’s Absent Friends, which featured two former Emmerdale regulars, David Crellin (Billy Hopwood) and Samantha Giles (Bernice Thomas). Steven Pinder, better known as Max Farnham in Brookside, was the counsel for the prosecution in Charity Tate’s trial, when I was on the jury, and Dominic Gately has also appeared, although I can’t remember when or what his role was. It was quite odd to see them all together on stage, but they performed very well to an appreciative audience.
