10/04/07 - The icing on the cake

I returned home from an enjoyable evening listening to Jim Wight’s recollections of his father Alf, aka James Herriot - see Ripon Writers’ Group for a photo and more details - to find an email from Richard Bell of Writers’ News.  After being shortlisted twice, I’ve finally made the top spot with my entry for the February short story competition.  This means a cash prize and, more importantly, publication in a future edition of WN and possibly also on the WN website.
